Pancha Ratna Govinda Temple

The Pancha Ratna Govinda Temple is located in Puthia village under Rajshahi district. It was built by the Queen of Puthia in mid-nineteenth century. The Puthia royal family were converted to Vaishnavism so that the temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna. The temple is large square edifice with five decorated ratnas. It has a square sanctum and also in the corners it has four square chambers . The sanctum has a Krishna image which is worshiped by local people. The roof of the sanctum and the chambers are formed by semi-circular domes. The temple is built in brick masonry and all the four outer walls are decorated by red colored terracota depicting the romance between Krishna and Radha.
