History:
The then Viceroy and Governor General of India Lord Curzon laid the foundation stone of Curzon Hall on 19 February 1904. Dhaka was presented as the provincial capital after the partition of Bengal was announced. Curzon Hall is one of the important prehistoric buildings. The prince of Bhawal paid for its construction.
On the occasion of the arrival of Baralat Bahadur, the princes of Bhawal, who are present here, donated one and a half lakh rupees for the construction of a general library named 'Curzon Hall' to commemorate the name of Lord Curzon Bahadur.
After the partition of Bengal was canceled in 1911, Dhaka College classes were moved to Curzon Hall. Then, when Dhaka University was established in 1921, Curzon Hall was attached to the Department of Science. That includes so far.
According to the History, Pakistan was formed in 1947 after the partition of India. Urdu is chosen as the state language. During the Bengali language movement from 1948 to 1956, various important events were held at Curzon Hall.

The building has a history with a beautiful blend of European and Mughal architectural styles. Some parts of its architecture show the impression of Muslim architecture.
The exterior of the building is made of dark red bricks. The arched domes are built in harmony with Mughal architecture and modern architecture.
