Sandwip is an island which is about 3000 years old and situated at the estuary of the Meghna River on the Bay of Bengal along the south eastern coast of Bangladesh in the Chittagong district. It has a great historical legacy and there are several stories behind its naming. The adventurous tourists might want to visit this island and discover its beauties. The island is formed by slits deposits from the river which has the made the island fertile. People cultivate various fruits and vegetables here. Tourists can see the ferry-ghat, riverbank, green fields with numerous trees specially coconut trees and enjoy the environment.

HOW TO GO THERE:

There is ferry service between Sitakundu-Sandwip everyday. There is a ship from Chittagong to Sandwip. There are some buses starting from Dhaka to Chittagong whose details are given below.
